| My friend Janet and I have a small farm in Pennsylvania. We had always wanted to include Shetland sheep in our small spinner and herding training flock. When we finally decided to search through the NASSA membership list and identified flocks that were close enough for a day's trip, we were fortunate to find a flock that was for sale. Although we couldn't buy the whole flock we chose a ewe and her daughter. As we were about to leave a black ram lamb came up to me and "begged" me to take him with us. I know that being chosen by a lamb sounds outrageous, but Othello was so convincing that although we had no intention of purchasing a ram or getting into breeding we have done both. Needless to say we have had some wonderful adventures since the three of them came to live with us |
